About TGA

The Go Academy was officially launched on 9th November 2014. Then Minister of Education, Mr Heng Swee Keat, officially graced the event as the guest of honour.

Our team of instructors is currently being led by SEA GAMES Gold Medallist & Professional 6 Dan, Mr Kang Zhan Bin. Supporting him are coaches who have graduated from Myongji University Go Studies department, South Korea.

We have been successful in and continue to organise, since 2014, Singapore's National Primary School Go Championship. World Champion & Professional 9 Dan, Mr Chang Hao, personally graced the tournament as the guest of honour in 2017.

As of 2016, The Go Academy has been officially recognized and authorized by the China Weiqi Association to issue Amateur Dan Certificates in National Go Championships and Appraisal Programs.

Till date, we have groomed more than 3,000 students through our Go Academy at our teaching centres, Primary Schools, Secondary Schools & Junior Colleges nationwide. Our aim is for all students in Singapore to have a national platform to learn, compete, network and to develop and grow their passion of playing Go.
